Travel Vaccinationsglobal air travel

The first step towards obtaining your travel vaccinations should be to visit the free MASTA website. Using the search box enter your destination and date. Clicking "Check" will bring up the recommendations for this country.

Once the first country has been entered you are given options to add further destinations to your journey. Please enter ALL countries that will be included in your trip and print out the resulting advice.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements and bring your MASTA printout with you or you can keep the information on your smartphone/tablet and bring it along.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS. The price will vary between pharmacies so we advise ringing around to check.

Payment of travel vaccinations

Cash and cheques are accepted by the practice. However, if preferred you are able to use PayPal by following the link below under travelling in Europe.
